Artist's Comments

I drew this in the winter/spring of 2001, when I had little to do in Rhode Island. The bats and luna moth are in pen and colored pacil, while the background is painted in. The thing I dislike about it are some flaws in the bats' anatomy. I failed to make the wing membranse attatch with those of the tail. I believe I was trying to portray a type of long-nosed bat, living in southern California and Mexico.

AWSOME!this would be so cool if you poked the holes threw it where the stars are and put it over a light!well i wouldn`t actually do that but it be cool if it was glow in the dark!its reminds me of silverwing!

BATS!! Bats are so awesome! After I read the Silverwing series they've been in my top ten list of fav. animals!! Such an awesome pic, I love the coloring and the wings are great! Haha..the bats I used to drew were like balls with flaps stickin' out of their sides. O_o
I don't see why some people think bats are ugly and stuff.
Again, a lovely pic!!

AHH!! I HATE it when people say bats are bald, slimy, ugly rodents!! They are never completely bald, not slimy (well, unless they fall in a tub of molassis) and are anything but ugly!! There reputation had been screwed by human misconceptions. I want to save them!!

Yes!! Silverwing is one of my faves, along with Sunwing and Firewing!

Doog?? What doog? Ha ha, just foolin'!! Next year, since it's our last at AAHS, I want to take a picture of all of us in tents (with the bat, erm ... not wearing a tent of course!!)

Oh, that's a good idea! I don't really have that many pictures of the pack...it's sad. I want to make a collage of pictures of us to put on the wall in my room...I know you've taken quite a few w/ your fancy digital camera.
