Cardinals

This drawing is in Prismacolor pencils, and is one of the few drawings I've started and finished in a day. It took about 3 hours.

Optimistic though this illustration may seem, the story behind it most dismal. has an older cousin, DeeDee, who is suffering from three diferent cancers. She isn't expected to live much longer. Corvat's mom asked if I could do a drawing for her, and that she was fond of birds (cardinals being abundant in where they grew up).

I hope it doesn't look to rushed. I'm leaving for school in three days, and the prismacolors stay behind, so now was the only time to do it. Also, I hope the female cardinal isn't too discolored. My dad insists that he has never seen a cardinal of such color in his life, yet the pictures I found of females all seem to be yellow and tan.
