Eponine Thernandier of Les Miserables, my favorite character, and a lot of people's favorite character.

Something is very different about this drawing from my other human-drawings. Usually I draw from photos or people posing. I did draw from a photo here, but only the body. While doing the head I looked at nothing, I figured that I've seen enough humans in my life to sketch a fairly proportioned head. I hope that it looks okay, I still don't for certain.

It is in charcoal, and took between 3 and 4 hours

As I said, she is my favorite character in Les Mis. She just grabs you, and I don't like to speak the mushy tongue (even though I do a lot) but she seems to be one of the more real characters in her lonlyness. She is so very tragic and I think all of us feel a little like her at some time in our lives, and in the musical you fall right into her pains and can't help but have sympathy (can you tell I cried when I first saw her sing On My Own).

She very much effected me as she does to many many viewers. Poor Eponine. She is very brave, very determined, even if it costs her everything. She looses a friend for the STUPIDEST reason (you can infer I'm very very anti-Cosset). And I think all of us have lost friends for retarded reasons, but are unable to convey to them just how much it stings. We play the facade that we are sound, but are eaten away within. And there is nothing to do because you, though very compelled to say something of all that troubles you, cannot say what you believe, feel, and observe at the cost of making matters worse.

I've thought about this way too much. I need to stop. Sorry, I have issues.

You can hear the piece!!! By the ever-so grand Lea Salonga (she unciates A TON-- modern music hates this concept-- maybe that's why I lovw it)!! [link]

I fell that the description under my picture of her is inferior now... however, I agree completely.
